SI Alpine Meeting July 27, 2017 Judy Tweed’s Home 6pm
President Susan Lancaster open the meeting with a found gavel from our early eighties club complete with blue and yellow balls attached! A great laugh to start out the CPR [Club Planning Meeting]. Members in attendance were Judy Tweed, Barb Louis, Marcy Hohnemann, Karen Donoghue, Pat Cannon Wolf, Donna Feeney, Dana Paskle, Kathy Dizney, Susan Lancaster and Patty Tweed.
Our president’s message began with a promise to keep the business meetings to a thirty minute maximum so ample time was allowed for fun and fellowship. Meetings will start at 6pm with suggested dinner plans at 5pm at nearby restaurants for those who would like to start the evening with a meal.
This year’s focus will be recruiting new members and pursuing the SIA mission to improve the lives of women and girls through our two signature programs… Live your Dream: Education & Training Awards for Women and Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls. Our two fundraisers will be our Halloween Bunco and our 6th Annual Women’s Holistic Retreat.
Our first order of business was to approve the slate of officers. Motion made by Pat. Kathy, seconded, All agreed.

- The Budget for 2017-2018 motion to accept by Barb. second by Karen, all agreed.
- Approval of Calendar 2017-2018 Kathy made the motion, seconded by Dana, discussions;
Pat suggested that all our fundraiser advertisements show that the funds will directly support our signature program so that sponsors, businesses and attendees will know the local impact.
Donna will check on the dates of for our Fun Fall Events with Day Tripper for Temecula Wine Tour, Jeopardy Game Show And Something Rotten, Sergerstom Center Costa Mesa.
Sample Planning Guide for each activity to be submitted by committee chair; forms will be available online. Calendar approved
- Approval of Shirts; Susan talked with Rose at Postal Annex about ordering shirts for our club. Discussion pursued with a motion by Kathy, second by Donna, to purchase Ladies ¾ sleeve cotton Front button shirts in either Soroptimist Blue [non denim] or Black with S* logo above pocket.
Soroptimist posters for Live Your Dream and Soroptimist of Alpine Awareness Membership campaigns were distributed to members present to be posted in local business .
Tuesday August 1, 2017 Ice Cream Social to be held at the Alpine Library hosted by our club to promote new membership. Susan sent out over 20 invitations via email, many requests prompted by Dana, all members encouraged to come and bring a prospective new member.
